For four years, in association with Mediakwest, the Satis invites professionals to vote online for the Satis trophies. The public thus rewards the most relevant technological innovations to the market.
End of October, media professionals voted for the best technological innovations at the Satis trophies. This year 36 products and projects were competing; including RTL City project, with its IP based workflow.
Forerunner of tapeless infrastructure, BCE decided to merge computer activities and broadcast technologies evolving to a completely over IP infrastructure.
The entire technology of new building, RTL City, is based on standard computer systems with a technological centralisation in our datacentre. While improving flexibility, it requires a perfect collaboration between broadcast and IT teams.
Using IP technology for broadcast, production, post-production and Telecom activities, we have completely changed our point of view on media technology, which allows to carry out new configurations, maximise the flexibility and open new horizons for the sector.
On November 8, BCE received the Satis trophy. “The transition to IP of a major house of television and radio was not easy. However we are proud today to benefit from this infrastructure on a daily basis and offer our expertise to the media world” comments Philippe Mauduit, Project manager at BCE France.
