While the march towards the digitalization of the Luxembourg public sector is an integral part of the priorities, speeches and political ideas, the city of Dudelange took concrete actions. The southern commune inaugurated in partnership with Broadcasting Center Europe, the first interactive E-Reider, installed on the town Hall Square.
“The installation of this innovative E-Reider in Dudelange demonstrates our willingness to be closest to our citizens.” Started the mayor Dan Biancalana, present alongside Loris Spina, René Manderscheid, Josiane Di-Bartolomeo-Ries and Claudia Dall’Agnol. This was designed and installed by Broadcasting Center Europe. “It’s simple, our community had already worked with BCE before, including the installation of the interactive totem inside the city hall. We have logically renewed the experience with them,” said Dan Biancalana.
This installation project simply took over the ideas held in its electoral programme in the communal elections in 2017 and focused on the development and modernization of its city.
In fact, Dudelange became the first municipality in Luxembourg to offer such an interactive service.
“This project complements the other platforms made available to our citizens. Indeed, it is neither to replace the physical E-Reider displayed on paper outside the city hall, nor the website. This is absolutely not the objective,” supported the mayor.
In addition, the new interactive kiosk was designed to be accessible to everyone and especially to people with reduced mobility.
More than a gadget, the interactive E-Reider is available in three languages: Luxembourgish, French and German. Several information from different communal services are made available to the residents who would like to be informed quickly in a few fingers taps in the middle of the city Centre.
“News from the Civil status department such as weddings, PACs or hours of permanence are available at any time. We are in the midst of the election period and this pillar also has a heading that deals with elections where, for example, we can access the lists of candidates, the previous results, … The summaries of the meetings of the Communal Council, the communal regulations, the PAP or the PAG are also visible on the screen and this list is not exhaustive. Not forgetting the classical information related to the service of the traffic and everything concerning the temporary regulations,” concluded Dan Biancalana.
